Transition of Russian Federation to unitary state and transition of Ukraine to federation?

Two opposing tendencies of a vertical power structure in territories of Russian federations and Ukraine are being discussed in this theses. Based on articles of some experts, the basic functional differences between the unitary state and federation are explained. They are then applied on two specific cases. In this theses there is described the development of Russian federalism as well as formation of a vertical system structure in Ukraine. Based on adopted laws, the difference between constitutional standards and real-life practice are examined. According to this theses, we can see in Russia, especially since inauguration of president Putin, rising centralization tendencies, while Ukraine has gone through the process of decentralization reform since 2014. There is introduced federalization of Ukraine as a possibility for future development in the end of this theses.
Russia: Economic development and foreign relations

The aim of this research is to critically analyse development of the Russian economy during the years 2000 - 2008 then examine the impact of the world economic crisis on the economy of Russia and mutual relations of Russia with the strategic foreign partners. The first part of this paper commences by undertaking a critical analysis of the economic progress during the government of V. Putin and a period before his apppointment to the presidency of Russia according to the evaluation of the macroeconomics indexes. The second passage is focused on the growth of the Russian economy during the world economic crisis up to current situation. The final part draws attention to the attitude of Russia to the important foreign partners such as EU and USA. It also identifies principal players in the Caspian region and analyses their task and goals in this area.
Russia during the presidency of V. Putin

This work analyses the development of Russian Federation during the presidency of V. Putin in years 2000-2008. It is especially concentrated on the internal development. It starts by summarizing of the Yeltsin period to understand the background, V. Putin was entering into, and to compare both systems in their continuity or difference. Concerning internal affairs, the work focuses on political consolidation, economic stabilization and the evolution of the Russian society. In foreign affairs, it analyses Russia's attitudes towards great powers like EU, USA or China. It mentions also the relations with the post-Soviet countries. Last but not least, the work brings a conclusion about the Russian identity and success of the reforms.
